This piece was inspired by this quote in I Ching philosophy:

We join the spokes together in a wheel, but it is the center hole that makes the wagon move.
We shape clay into a pot, but the emptiness inside that holds whatever we want.
We hammer wood for a home, but it is the inner space that makes it livable.
We work with being, but non-being is what we use.

Wood was the ideal material to create the delicate structure of this work, the design also resembling the tree branch to hold the inner piece, the inner piece contain other 4 elements: Metal, Water, Earth and Fire.

The beauty of this piece is not so much in the wood grain but wood vessel that hold all the balance of the universe together, the inner vessel is just floating on air balancing on the inside of the outer piece
